Here we have a very special and rare piece, may I present the Louis Vuitton French Company Speedy in the 35 size! The 35 offers slightly more room than the traditional 30 size and is much harder to find!
If I had my dream closet this would sit front and center, so I could see it every day and adore its unique features, the part it played in LV History and it being made in the great USA! This is an exceptional piece in amazing condition.
History of The French Company
Louis Vuitton's worldwide popularity grew even more rapidly in the 1970's in the United States. Until this time, their factories had always been in France... but Louis Vuitton simply couldn't keep up with its growing market in the US. For this reason, in the 1970's Louis Vuitton developed a relationship with a US Luggage Maker- The French Luggage Company. During a period from around 1976 through 1991, The French Company manufactured bags under a special license from Louis Vuitton. These items were made here in the US, and were sold here in the US. They were sold in more exclusive department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue & Neiman Marcus.

Condition:
The Canvas is clean and beautiful
It is (in my opinion) in amazing shape for its age, being close to 40 years old.
The Leather is coated vs. natural uncoated Vachetta as described in my History Post. With that being said some of the coating has extremely minor wear and is mostly all intact.
The Leather shows very minor wear as well.
The inside is clean with some minor wear and markings.
