Until this time, their factories had always been in France... but Louis Vuitton simply couldn't keep up with its growing market in the US. For this reason, in the 1970's Louis Vuitton developed a relationship with a US Luggage Maker-
The French Luggage Company. During a period from around 1976 through 1991, The French Company manufactured bags under a special license from Louis Vuitton. These items were made here in the US, and were sold here in the US. They were sold in more exclusive department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue & Neiman Marcus.
Here we have rare and harder to find French Co piece! She’s a great all purpose tote that has a clear plastic covering over the lining. The French Co put those on vanity bags and some of their totes for easy clean up if something were to spill. This would make a great picnic tote with a worry free interior that cleans up easily. This was put on the market as a pet carrier and makes a great piece to bring your fur baby for a quick run to the store.
